Cecil County Public Schools search for a new Superintendent

Although this is a little bit off topic, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about the search for a new Superintendent of schools in Cecil County.  As far as I know a decision hasn’t been made.  The three candidates visited the county week and toured the schools.  Below is some of the information about the candidates and links to websites with info about them.

  • Has been Superintendent of Higley Unified School District since 2004
  • Started out as a Middle School Teacher in the Ann Arbor, Michigan School District
  • Was the Principal at various Elementary and Middle Schools in Ann Arbor
  • Was Superintendent of Fruitport, Michigan Community Schools
  • Holds Bachelors degree from University of Michigan, a Masters and PhD from Eastern Michigan University

  • Started out career in 1972 as an Elementary School Physical Education Teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland Public Schools
  • Also served in Montgomery County as a Guidance Counselor, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Central Office Administrator
  • Superintendent of Fairfax County, Virginia Public Schools, 1999-2005
  • Holds Bachelors Degree from District of Columbia’s Teachers College, Masters from Trinity University in D.C, and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University
