School Integration Project Now Expanded To Include Caroline and Talbot Counties

It’s official!  I’ve now decided to expand my project to include Caroline County and Talbot County.  I took advantage of the time I had off for Thanksgiving to get a head start.  On Friday, my journey led me to the Caroline County Publlic Library, in Denton.  I didn’t get into any in depth research but I scanned over the verticle files to see what they had.  The one thing that caught my eye was an article about the late Wilbur Hoopengardner, the Superintendent of Caroline County Schools at their time of school integration.   The Librarian that I talked to was one of the most helpful librarians I’ve worked with.  She even said that she would see if there was someone at the Board of Education that I could talk to!  I look forward to researching at the Caroline County Public Library again!

Today, I drove down to Easton to start research at the Talbot County Public Library.  I was disappointed to find out that the library closed at 1pm today.  They didn’t have that posted on their website.  But, I guess thats what happens when you try to do research on a holiday weekend.  Hopefully, I will have time soon to go down some weekend and look through their files on a non-holiday weekend.
